About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining experience with pharmacy operations and patient care. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focused on Key Learning Experiences.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care during interactions.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical principles.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, where allowable by law.
- Assist with basic inventory activities, including cycle counts and processing medication deliveries.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to concentrate on specific tasks over extended periods.
- Proficiency in verifying prescription information and label accuracy to ensure safety.
- Mathematical skills to solve problems, such as calculating tablet counts or day supplies.
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients and colleagues.
