About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site in Phoenix, Arizona, assisting with maintenance and welding projects. This program is open to students currently enrolled in an associate degree or certification program in welding, or those who graduated within 12 months of the start date.
What you'll do#
- Assist with welding processes including SMAW, FCAW/GMAW, TIG, and Carbon Arc Gouging on various equipment.
- Support Boilermaker Welders with routine maintenance and fabrication tasks, including work based on blueprints or field fabrication.
- Complete work orders and maintain necessary maintenance documentation.
- Perform additional duties as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a welding associate degree or certification program.
- Ability to understand, apply, and communicate safety instructions, procedures, and work assignments in English.
- Capacity to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, climbing stairs or ladders, working on elevated platforms, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work in environments that may include exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, fumes, or moving mechanical parts.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots.

- Location: Phoenix, Arizona.
- Duration: Summer 2027 (typically May through August).
