About the role#
The Career and Co-op work study student helps create social media content, supports co-op recruitment, and assists with department events. This position is part of the Federal work-study program and provides paid experience for students with financial need.
What you'll do#
- Capture photos and short videos of students in labs, classrooms, and job sites.
- Brainstorm creative ways to showcase student experiences and campus projects.
- Conduct peer-to-peer interviews and share reflections on the co-op experience.
- Participate in social media takeovers to highlight campus life and hands-on learning.
- Represent the college at a minimum of 3 external events and speak with classmates about co-op benefits.
- Provide administrative support, including maintenance of the office and the bi-weekly alumni job lead newsletter.
- Assist with event planning and day-of coordination.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology with eligibility for the Federal work-study program.
- Completion of the FAFSA and demonstrated financial need.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
- Availability to work at least 2 days a week between 9am and 3pm.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to organize tasks, multitask, and meet deadlines.
- Professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to supporting diversity.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to explain concepts to peers.
