About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Summer 2026 internship based in Perrysburg, Ohio. You will work on-site with the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software team to develop solutions, support system operations, and contribute to a specific project tailored to business needs. You will collaborate with developers on tier 3 support, attend operational meetings, and present your final accomplishments to the leadership team.
What you'll do#
- Develop software solutions following best practices.
- Create unit tests using frameworks such as xUnit.
- Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Assist with troubleshooting and support of software issues.
- Work with operations personnel to define, source, and report on manufacturing metrics and system requirements.
- Assist with the system development of the Remote Operations Center.
- Design and build front-end components or develop natural language model interfaces for internal tools.
- Convert legacy applications to modern tool chains using Ignition.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor, Master, or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or Electrical Engineering.
- Completion of at least 2 years of major coursework, specifically in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.
- Significant coursework in Object Oriented Programming, Relational Database Management, and Data Structures and Algorithms.
- Experience writing code in Python or C#.
- Familiarity with SQL and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of scripting technologies like PowerShell.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Ability to adhere to all safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
- Interest in front-end JavaScript, Generative AI tools, and automation platforms like Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, or Kubernetes is a plus.
