Software Engineer Intern (1st Shift)

About the role#

This is a full-time, paid Summer 2026 internship based in Perrysburg, Ohio. You will join the MES Software team to gain hands-on experience in software development and system support. Interns are expected to complete a defined project, participate in team operational meetings, and present a summary of their work to leadership at the end of the term.

What you'll do#

• Develop software solutions following industry best practices.
• Create unit tests using frameworks such as xUnit.
• Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Assist with troubleshooting and support of software issues, including tier 3 support in collaboration with developers.
• Work with operations personnel to define, source, and display manufacturing metrics and KPIs.
• Design front-end components for R&D software or assist in the development of the Remote Operations Center.
• Explore the integration of natural language models for employee onboarding and troubleshooting.
• Convert legacy applications to modern tool chains using Ignition.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program, with at least two years of coursework completed in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.
• Completion of coursework in Data Structures and Algorithms.
• Strong foundation in Object Oriented Programming and Relational Database Management.
• Experience writing code in Python or C#.
• Ability to write SQL and familiarity with reporting tools.
• Knowledge of scripting technologies such as PowerShell.
• Interest in front-end development (JavaScript), build automation (Apache Spark, Airflow, Kubernetes), or Generative AI tools.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Compensation: $22/HR - $25/HR.
