About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Summer 2026 internship based on-site in Perrysburg, Ohio. You will gain experience in software engineering and data systems by supporting our Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) team. Throughout the summer, you will pair with developers, attend operational meetings, and complete a specific project defined by current business needs. At the end of the term, you will present your accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team.
What you'll do#
- Develop software solutions following best practices.
- Create unit tests using frameworks like xUnit.
- Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Assist with troubleshooting and support for software issues, including tier 3 support.
- Work with operations personnel to define, source, and display manufacturing metrics and KPIs.
- Interface with other departments to define project requirements.
- Assist with system development for the Remote Operations Center.
- Design front-end components or develop natural language models for internal tools.
- Convert legacy applications to modern tool chains.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program with at least two years of completed coursework in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or Management Information Systems.
- Experience writing code in Python or C#.
- Completed coursework in Data Structures and Algorithms.
- Significant coursework in Object Oriented Programming and Relational Database Management.
- Knowledge of SQL and reporting tools.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with scripting technologies like PowerShell is helpful.
- Interest in build and deployment automation, such as Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, or Kubernetes, is a plus.
