About the role#
This internship offers exposure to high volume solar panel manufacturing equipment and processes. You will work with a cross functional team to monitor production performance, solve problems, and contribute to projects focused on safety, quality, and productivity. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in New Iberia, Louisiana.
What you'll do#
- Assist manufacturing technicians, engineers, and leadership with day-to-day equipment and process challenges.
- Monitor and collect production data, then perform statistical analysis to assess performance.
- Execute process experiments, analyze the resulting data, and report your findings.
- Develop or update technical documentation, including process work instructions and control plans.
- Create and conduct training sessions for the production floor.
- Maintain effective communication with team members and internal associates.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and environmental health protocols.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Current pursuit of at least a bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A safety-first mindset for working in a factory environment.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
Location & details#
- Location: New Iberia, Louisiana.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8a-5p.
- Physical requirements include the ability to stand or walk for up to 12 hours, lift up to 58 pounds, and wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators.
