About the role#
As a Development Engineer Intern, you will work at the California Technology Center in Santa Clara. This role involves hands-on laboratory work supporting solar panel research and development. You will collaborate with engineers and technicians to advance thin film material experiments, specifically focusing on inkjet printing and spray coating techniques.
What you'll do#
- Conduct hands-on lab experiments related to solar panel research.
- Assist in the development of uniform thin film materials using inkjet printing and spray coating methods.
- Collect and analyze experimental data.
- Present your project summary and accomplishments to the leadership team at the end of the term.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate (Year 2 or higher) or graduate program in Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering.
- Completion of chemistry lecture coursework and at least one chemistry lab course.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience in an undergraduate research lab is considered an asset.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators which may require being clean-shaven.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 37 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, or reaching throughout a shift.
