About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Fall 2026 term. The position is based on-site in California and offers a salary range of 27.50 to 37.50 USD per hour. Interns are expected to commit to a duration of 3 to 5 months. While you may enroll in classes, your academic schedule must not interfere with the essential functions of the role.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians on hands-on solar panel research experiments.
- Assist with research and development projects involving inkjet printing and spray coating of uniform thin film materials.
- Collect and analyze experimental data.
- Present your project summary and accomplishments to the leadership team at the end of the internship.
- Comply with all safety standards and wear required personal protective equipment, which may include steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and respirators.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate (Year 2 or higher) or graduate student in Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering.
- Completion of chemistry lecture courses and at least one chemistry lab course.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 37 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, or reaching as required by lab operations.
- Experience in an undergraduate research lab is considered an asset.
