About the role#
This internship offers a chance to gain experience with high-volume solar panel manufacturing. You will work with a cross-functional team to monitor production, solve problems, and contribute to projects that improve safety, quality, and productivity. You will report to an engineer or manager.
What you'll do#
- Assist manufacturing technicians, engineers, and leadership with daily operations.
- Solve day-to-day production equipment and process challenges.
- Monitor and collect production process data, performing statistical analysis to assess performance.
- Execute process experiments and report results.
- Create and conduct training sessions in the classroom and on the production floor.
- Develop or update documentation such as process work instructions and control plans.
- Maintain effective communication with team members and internal associates.
- Adhere to all safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering, Business Administration, Physics, or Mathematics.
- Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A safety-first mindset for working in a factory environment.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English.
- The ability to lift, push, or pull up to 27 pounds frequently and up to 58 pounds occasionally.
- The ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators, which requires little or no facial hair.
- 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site position based in Trinity, Alabama.
- The term is for Fall 2027.
- Typical working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
