About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Fall 2026 term, running from September 1, 2026, to November 30, 2026. You will work on-site in Santa Clara, California, supporting research and development efforts in photovoltaic technology. This role requires adherence to safety standards and the ability to work under daily supervision while following established procedures.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the fabrication of research-scale photovoltaic devices, including support for non-standard and experimental processes.
- Contribute to the electrical and material characterization of thin films and photovoltaic devices.
- Aid in data collection and analysis to support ongoing research.
- Present a summary of your accomplishments and project outcomes to the leadership team at the conclusion of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program, having reached at least junior year.
- Pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions.
- Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with vacuum equipment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and potentially a respirator (which may require being clean-shaven).
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 37 pounds on an occasional basis.
