About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will support the production of high-reliability electronic hardware. This role involves working on tactical satellite equipment, including surface mount technology assembly, mechanical integration, and environmental testing. You will assist senior engineers with new product introductions and daily manufacturing operations.
What you'll do#
- Create and maintain work instructions, assembly routings, and process procedures.
- Oversee non-conformance reviews and implement engineering changes.
- Maintain manufacturing processes and oversee process equipment.
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
- Support cross-functional teams with new product transfers from engineering to production.
- Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and recommend tooling requirements.
- Attend daily shift huddles to track product line performance.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or industrial engineering.
- Practical experience with soldering or basic electronic manufacturing processes.
- Ability to work on-site in Salt Lake City.
