About the role#
The Markets Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York manages the balance sheet of the Federal Reserve System, monitors financial market developments, and supports U.S. Treasury debt management. This internship is a 10-week, full-time program based in Chicago. You will work alongside senior staff to support the analytical and operational functions of the Group.
What you'll do#
- Prepare charts, tables, and graphs to support research and market analysis.
- Assist senior staff with the analysis of economic and financial data.
- Help execute funds, securities, trading, and settlement activities.
- Maintain internal reports and perform data entry for operations results.
- Test the implementation of new products.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program with an expected graduation date between Winter 2027 and Spring 2028.
- Academic focus in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Data Science, or Business Administration.
- Demonstrated interest in financial markets, public policy, or finance.
- Quantitative analysis skills, including experience with spreadsheets, databases, and tools such as Excel and SQL.
- Familiarity with international and domestic capital markets and instruments.
- Ability to source, prepare, and visually represent data for written reports.
