About the role#
EXP is hiring a Building Performance Intern for the Coral Gables office. This role supports projects focused on energy, sustainability, resiliency, facility assessments, and capital planning. You will work directly with engineers, architects, and technical specialists on real-world projects for public and institutional clients.
What you'll do#
- Assist with building and facility assessments.
- Support energy audits, utility data analysis, and benchmarking activities.
- Collect and organize field data, photos, and building information.
- Evaluate building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building envelope components.
- Assist with technical reports, presentations, and data analysis.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on facility improvement projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Engineering, Building Science, Sustainability, Architecture, Construction Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A genuine interest in building performance, energy efficiency, sustainability, and resiliency.
- Experience with data analysis tools, energy modeling, benchmarking, GIS, or AutoCAD is a plus.
