About the role#
We are looking for a Civil or Structural Engineering intern to join our Global Utility Division. You will work with the North America Steel Design Engineering team to gain hands-on experience with real-world projects. This internship provides exposure to cross-functional teams and mentorship from experienced engineers.
What you'll do#
- Participate in design and analysis processes.
- Suggest improvements for design criteria, analysis methods, and drafting procedures.
- Work with Manufacturing, Procurement, Service, Quality Assurance, and Engineering Services teams to understand the product development process.
- Help troubleshoot design challenges.
- Consider manufacturability and efficiency while applying your design knowledge.
What you'll need#
- Status as a rising junior or senior pursuing a degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Completion of Statics and Dynamics coursework.
- Proficiency with CAD applications, including the ability to convert drawings into 3D models.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Coursework or experience in Structural Analysis, Steel Design, and Mechanics of Materials is preferred.

- This is an on-site position located in Valley, Nebraska.
- The internship terms are available for Spring 2027 and Summer 2027.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
