About the role#
As a Design Drafter Intern, you will gain experience by contributing to the goals of our drafting team. You will work alongside engineers to learn industry best practices. This role involves project work, job shadowing, and interaction with leaders across the company. You will develop technical and professional skills while working on critical infrastructure projects.
What you'll do#
- Determine changes, corrections, and requirements to meet project needs.
- Create sketches for use by other designers and drafters.
- Interpret specifications and standards to ensure customer requirements are met or improved.
- Communicate with customers to resolve specification questions.
- Collaborate with team members to develop shop drawings and provide project input.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Drafting and Design or Industrial Design.
- CAD skills, including design applications and the ability to convert drawings to 3D models.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site in Valley, Nebraska.
- The internship is available for Winter 2027 and Summer 2027 terms.
- This is a paid, full-time position.
