About the role#
As a Student Optician, you will work under the supervision of a licensed optician to provide eye care services and support store operations. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Mississauga, Ontario.
What you'll do#
- Deliver customer service by assisting with frame selections and providing product recommendations.
- Perform technical tasks including recording measurements and fitting eyewear to meet specific customer needs.
- Operate the Point of Sale terminal to input customer and prescription information.
- Maintain the appearance of the store and visual displays.
- Educate customers on adjustment services and answer questions regarding products.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Opticianry program.
- Prior experience with optical dispensing.
- Knowledge of current optical theory and merchandise.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Sales skills and comfort using technology, such as tablets, to engage with customers.
- Majors in Biology, Health Administration, Nursing, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Public Health are relevant to this role.
