About the role#
As a Student Optician, you will deliver service to customers while building your optical expertise. You will work under the supervision of a licensed optician to ensure patients receive accurate care and high-quality eyewear. This is a part-time, on-site role based in North York, Ontario.
What you'll do#
- Record measurements and adjust or fit eyewear to meet customer needs.
- Operate the Point of Sale terminal to input customer and prescription data.
- Assist customers with product selections and provide recommendations.
- Educate customers on adjustment services and answer questions about products.
- Maintain the appearance of the store and visual displays.
- Support the learning of other associates to build an effective team environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Opticianry program.
- Prior experience with optical dispensing.
- Knowledge of optical theory, merchandise, and inventory management systems.
- Comfort using technology, including tablets, to engage with patients and customers.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
