About the role#
As a Student Optician, you will deliver signature customer experiences and help customers with their eyewear needs. You will work under the supervision of a licensed optician to perform measurements and ensure eyewear fits correctly. This is a part-time role based in Brampton, Ontario.
What you'll do#
- Assist customers with product selections and provide recommendations.
- Educate customers on adjustment services.
- Record measurements and fit eyewear under the supervision of a licensed optician.
- Operate the point of sale terminal and input prescription information.
- Maintain the appearance of the store and visual displays.
- Develop optical skills and share knowledge with other team members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Opticianry program.
- Experience with optical dispensing.
- Knowledge of optical theory and inventory management systems.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Comfort using technology, including tablets.
- Sales skills.
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred.
- Current study of LensCrafters Final Inspector Certification or Quality, Fitting and Adjusting Program is preferred.
