About the role#
Emerson is hiring a Simulation Engineer Co-Op for an 8-month assignment. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Marshalltown, Iowa. We are looking for students available for the Winter, Summer, or Fall 2027 terms. Please note that we do not provide work sponsorship for this role.
What you'll do#
- Create, solve, post-process, and document fluids (CFD) simulations for product designs.
- Help develop documented best practices to guide other users in simulation methods.
- Improve simulation technologies and processes through scripting and automation.
- Work with team members to keep projects moving efficiently.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering, specifically Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Junior or Senior standing.
- Successful completion of an Introductory Fluids course.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Experience with numerical simulations, CAD software, and programming or scripting languages like Python.
- Prior experience with engineering simulations through internships or project-based clubs like rocketry or solar car teams.
