About the role#
Emerson is looking for a Quality Intern for the Winter 2027 term in Knoxville, Tennessee. This full-time, paid internship offers hands-on experience with quality systems, document control, auditing, and supply chain management. You will work with experienced team members to improve processes and product quality while exploring how artificial intelligence can enhance quality workflows.
What you'll do#
- Support document control by revising, reviewing, and publishing updated materials.
- Identify ways to strengthen document-control and audit-related processes.
- Learn management system standards and evaluate procedures for improvement.
- Develop auditing skills and assist with internal process audits.
- Collaborate with suppliers to address quality concerns from manufacturing.
- Partner with the distribution center to resolve supply chain quality issues.
- Learn inspection methods and provide support when needed.
- Research and recommend practical ways to use artificial intelligence in quality processes.
- Document findings and communicate progress to your team.
- Participate in continuous-improvement activities while following safety and ethical requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. Please note that sponsorship is not provided for this role.
- Ability to organize information and maintain accurate documentation.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues, suppliers, and cross-functional partners.
- Willingness to learn quality standards, auditing practices, and inspection techniques.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
- Coursework or practical experience in quality, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, or data analytics.
- An interest in continuous improvement and operations.
