About the role#
As a Quality Engineering Co-op in Marshalltown, you will gain hands-on experience by working directly with the Quality Manager, Quality Control Manager, and Quality Engineers. This role involves a mix of office work and time spent on the production floor. You will take on individual tasks and participate in group projects to support the quality department.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to implement solutions for safety, quality, and production challenges.
- Document current and future state workflows and identify potential process improvements.
- Lead and participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
- Support initiatives focused on inspection accuracy, efficiency, and quality performance, including CMM programming for part inspection.
- Complete specific projects as assigned by the Quality Manager.
- Attend department, team, and project meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and decision-making capabilities, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- A self-motivated, disciplined, and hands-on approach to problem solving.
- A focus on safety.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
