About the role#
Emerson is seeking a Quality/Engineering Co-op to join our team in Sherman, Texas. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience by working alongside our Quality, Assembly, and Engineering departments. You will handle a mix of individual tasks and collaborative group projects focused on improving our manufacturing processes.
What you'll do#
- Write work instructions, quality alerts, change requests, and tooling or fixture drawings.
- Update shop floor layouts and perform time studies to track efficiency.
- Document current and future state workflows while identifying potential process improvements.
- Participate in kaizen events to eliminate waste and support lean initiatives.
- Collaborate with other engineers and departments to develop solutions for safety, quality, and production challenges.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- A safety-conscious mindset and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
