About the role#
This Mechanical Engineering Co-op position offers the opportunity to build professional skills through hands-on work in the automation machinery manufacturing industry. You will rotate through departments including the engineering lab, computer-aided engineering, and product engineering. You will receive mentorship from experienced managers and business leaders while contributing to real projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with setting up and conducting tests, gathering data, and writing lab reports.
- Learn data analysis techniques and use them to evaluate test results.
- Use Solid Edge CAD software to create 3D models, design concepts, and detailed drawings.
- Support engineers with product development and sustaining engineering tasks.
- Learn to troubleshoot technical problems and develop creative solutions.
- Complete a final design project, including conceptual design, computations, prototyping, and testing.
- Deliver a final presentation regarding your activities and findings to the VP of Engineering and staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- Ability to work full-time during the summer 2027 semester.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude and practical experience with hand or power tools.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher is preferred.
- Ability to return for multiple co-op rotations is preferred.
