About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers to design, build, test, and iterate on robotics systems. This is a hands-on, full-time role based on-site for a term of 3 to 6 months. You will contribute to projects that blend mechanical design, robotics, and controls.
What you'll do#
- Design, assemble, test, and evaluate mechanical and electromechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
- Create, review, and update 3D CAD models, detailed engineering drawings, and production documentation.
- Develop test plans, collect data, and perform analysis to validate product designs.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electromechanical issues.
- Create test tools, fixtures, or scripts to support the engineering team.
- Participate in design reviews and daily problem-solving with a cross-functional team.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design and development processes.
- Build your time management, communication, and technical skills.
What you'll need#
- Familiarity with CAD tools such as Onshape or SolidWorks.
- Comfort using basic shop tools like drills.
- Ability to work well in an integrated, collaborative team environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a professional setting with changing needs.
- At least one hands-on experience, such as lab research, project team membership, a prior internship, or previous work experience.
- An up-to-date resume and a portfolio of previous work.
