About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work alongside our team of Project Managers, Controls Engineers, and Mechanical Design Engineers. This role provides a hands-on introduction to CAD modeling, robotic systems, and manufacturing processes. You will apply your academic knowledge to real projects while developing technical skills under the guidance of senior staff. This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Create 3D models and 2D technical drawings for automation components like fixtures and conveyors.
- Support the design of mechanical parts, such as brackets and mounts, with senior engineer oversight.
- Participate in prototype assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of robotic and automated systems.
- Maintain engineering documentation, including Bills of Materials and design records.
- Conduct introductory tolerance analyses and component measurements to support design validation.
- Research material properties and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineers to brainstorm solutions and document project findings.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with at least 2 years completed.
- Basic familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Introductory knowledge of mechanical principles, fasteners, or robotics.
- Comfort using Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- A detail-oriented mindset with an interest in solving technical challenges.
- Ability to work well with others and remain open to feedback.
