About the role#
The Welding Engineer Intern joins our team to work on the design, specification, and implementation of custom automated welding machinery. You will produce pre-process and post-process documentation, participate in internal destructive testing, and assist with process improvements and troubleshooting.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, and document welding and joining systems for automated equipment.
- Create and revise customer-required welding documents, including WPS, PQR, weld maps, and destructive testing results.
- Develop internal and external welding specifications for various processes.
- Inspect automated welding projects completed in-house.
- Generate conceptual solutions for unique technical problems.
- Analyze the feasibility, performance, and design of equipment and components.
- Troubleshoot issues related to weld, joining, wiring, pneumatic, and hydraulic circuits.
- Learn and apply basic programming skills.
- Communicate with peers, customers, and vendors in a team environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a university program in Welding Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with welding processes, robots, and reviewing specifications.
- Familiarity with WPS and PQR documentation.
- Ability to travel domestically for an average of 10% of the time.
