About the role#
This is a paid, full-time, on-site co-op position based in Marshalltown, Iowa. You will work directly on the shop floor to support manufacturing, machining, and welding projects. This is a rolling, 8-month assignment designed for students currently enrolled in a college or university program.
What you'll do#
- Support and promote a strong safety culture across the facility.
- Help develop and qualify new manufacturing procedures and processes.
- Serve as a manufacturing interface for Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams to address potential production issues.
- Analyze data to identify the root causes of issues and implement solutions to improve processes.
- Participate in the development of capital plans and support Appropriation Requests for new technology.
- Coordinate production and quality activities to help meet customer delivery expectations.
- Communicate best practices to employees through training, area meetings, and visual workplace tools.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering, specifically Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- Junior or Senior class standing.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in manufacturing.
- Previous hands-on manufacturing experience from a job, internship, or academic project.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
