About the role#
Emerson is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Co-Op for our facility in Sherman, Texas. This is a full-time, paid position for the Winter and Summer 2027 terms. You will work on-site to assist with safety programs and environmental compliance under the guidance of the Site ES&H Manager and Safety Specialists.
What you'll do#
- Review and support updates to formal safety programs, including Lockout, Fall Protection, and the Global Harmonization System.
- Perform safety surveys and engage with employees on the floor.
- Support the development and implementation of continuous improvement processes for safety.
- Complete hands-on tasks such as audits, monitoring, Job Safety Analyses, and ergonomic assessments.
- Assist and lead projects as assigned by the safety team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program, preferably in Environmental Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Basic understanding of EPA and OSHA regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
