    About the role#

    This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Manheim, Pennsylvania. You will work on-site as part of the HS&E team to support safety initiatives across our manufacturing facilities. Throughout the summer, you will manage individual and cross-functional projects, participate in professional development opportunities, and present a final project overview to our executive leadership team.

    What you'll do#

    • Validate existing Job Safety Analyses and evaluate LockOut Tag machine specific procedures.
    • Complete baseline noise surveys for Pennsylvania facilities.
    • Perform personal protective equipment assessments and update the ergonomic safety program.
    • Improve the heat abatement process and coordinate the safety program within the facilities.
    • Ensure associates receive required training and participate in incident investigations to recommend corrective actions.
    • Assess the workplace for hazards and make recommendations to mitigate risks in new and existing processes.
    • Communicate safety standards, develop and implement policies and procedures, and interact with Human Resources regarding Workers Compensation issues.
    • Lead safety initiatives for assigned areas and stay current on environmental and safety regulations.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a degree program with at least 1-2 years of college or technical school in a related field.
    • Working knowledge of multiple technical safety disciplines, including risk assessment, policy development, and federal or state regulations.
    • Experience with safety audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver stand-up and virtual presentations to all levels of the organization.
    • Willingness and ability to work in a multi-site, multi-shift manufacturing environment.
    • A collaborative mindset and a focus on achieving high-quality results.
