About the role#
This summer internship with the New Product Textile Engineering Team focuses on product, process, and testing requirements for our textile category. You will join the New Product Development team to assist with R&D projects, including testing applications for alternative fabrics like quartz and MWPE.
What you'll do#
- Perform lab testing on silicones, polyurethanes, and textiles.
- Set up and run experiments for new product technologies.
- Use AI-enabled tools to assist with data analysis, project work, and operational efficiency.
- Run computer-controlled test equipment and analyze the resulting data.
- Update product specifications and write analytical reports based on your findings.
- Create new tests and document the necessary work instructions.
What you'll need#
- At least 2 years of college coursework in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
- Basic chemistry knowledge for evaluating and testing products.
- Understanding of chemistry principles such as strain, stress, and coefficient of friction.
- Skills in statistical analysis.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft package.
- Working knowledge of lab equipment and software like hot presses and MTS.
- Ability to record and interpret lab test measurements.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
