About the role#
We are looking for an AI Research Intern to join our team and bridge the gap between AI research and real-world physical actuation. You will work on our autonomous transport platforms, contributing to initiatives in perception, world models, and action models. Your goal is to translate research into scalable deployment for physical autonomous systems.
What you'll do#
- Integrate and adapt AI research into internal model pipelines.
- Validate model performance on real-world datasets and simulation.
- Prototype and evaluate RL, trajectory planning, and distillation algorithms.
- Train and fine-tune multimodal models that map sensor inputs and behavioral goals to vehicle actuation.
- Experiment with world model architectures using multi-sensor log data to improve simulation fidelity.
- Analyze edge cases and failure modes in driving environments to iterate on model performance.
- Run simulation experiments with research and validation teams to identify bottlenecks and track improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, EECS, Robotics, AI, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python and working knowledge of C++.
- Advanced hands-on experience with PyTorch or JAX for training large-scale neural networks.
- Background in at least one of these areas: Generative World Models, Video Generation, Diffusion Models, Vision-Language-Action models, embodied AI, Reinforcement Learning, trajectory optimization, or large-scale multimodal Transformer architectures.
- Prior experience in autonomous driving, mobile robotics, or spatial AI is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship with a pay rate of $70 per hour.
- The role is based on-site in either our Mountain View or San Francisco offices.
- We work on-site five days a week.
- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
