About the role#
Emerson is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Summer Intern for our Mansfield, Massachusetts location. This full-time position runs during the summer of 2027. You will work under the supervision of the Site ESH Manager to assist with safety programs and site-specific projects.
What you'll do#
- Review and update formal safety programs, including Lockout, Fall Protection, and GHS.
- Perform safety surveys and engage with employees on the floor.
- Support the development and implementation of continuous improvement processes.
- Assist with and lead projects such as departmental and tooling inspections.
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis, safety observations, and ergonomic assessments.
- Manage SDS inventory and chemical assessments, as well as LOTO program tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for safety engineering, occupational safety & health, facilities management, or a related field.
- Sophomore class status or higher.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Completed coursework in construction safety.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in a corporate or manufacturing safety environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively across diverse groups and levels.

- Compensation: $24-$28 per hour.
