    About the role#

    The Systems R&D team within the Aerospace, Defense and Government unit designs components and systems for avionics, communications, navigation, Signals Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and RADAR. You will work with NI hardware platforms including PXI RF instruments, modular FPGA co-processors, and software-defined radios to build system-level solutions. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship based in Austin, Texas.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop software components to meet specific customer requirements.
    • Implement and test features for new and existing software offerings.
    • Collaborate within an Agile team to prioritize tasks and deliver features on schedule.
    • Follow and improve coding guidelines while providing code reviews.
    • Contribute to the creation of test plans.

    What you'll need#

    • Working toward a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Science, or Computer Science.
    • Proficiency in programming languages and development experience on Windows or Linux platforms.
    • Basic understanding of software design principles.
    • US Citizen or US Person status, as required by government contracts.
    • Familiarity with NI software tools like LabVIEW, TestStand, or Veristand is preferred.
    • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment processes.
    • Hands-on experience with NI hardware platforms.
    • Ability to drive projects to completion, communicate effectively with engineering teams, and solve technical problems.
