About the role#
Dominion Energy is seeking an Electrical Engineering intern for the Summer 2027 term at the Millstone Power Station. This role focuses on the electrical distribution and instrumentation and control (I&C) systems required to operate a large power generating plant. You will work with systems such as main turbine controls, feedwater controls, and nuclear reactor controls, including rod drive and digital position indication. The role also covers electrical distribution equipment like large oil cooled power transformers and various voltage systems.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and trend system performance.
- Perform equipment inspections and system walkdowns.
- Evaluate component performance.
- Assist with corrective actions and component troubleshooting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET accredited 4-year engineering program studying Electrical, I&C, Electrical and computer, or Nuclear Engineering with an electrical focus.
- A graduation date of fall 2028 or later.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Knowledge of basic electrical theories and principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel with Macros.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing.
- An inquisitive nature and strong professional ethics.
- Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
