About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship focused on the design, development, and implementation of high voltage underground transmission lines ranging from 69kV to 500kV. You will work primarily in an office setting while gaining exposure to how these lines impact the electrical grid.
What you'll do#
- Learn about underground transmission components and design techniques.
- Study construction methods and project workflows.
- Develop project management skills.
- Participate in software training and construction site visits.
- Engage in networking opportunities across the department.
What you'll need#
- You must be a rising Junior or Senior pursuing a 4-year bachelor degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is required.
- Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems and think analytically.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, including technical writing.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively both independently and in a team.

Location & details#
- This role is based in Glen Allen, Virginia.
- The position follows a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and two days of teleworking.
- This is a rolling term internship.
