About the role#
Dominion Energy is seeking a Power Station Intern to support operations and maintenance activities at the Chesterfield Power Station. This role offers hands-on experience in a power generation environment while working alongside professionals across multiple functional areas. You will gain insight into power generation processes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
What you'll do#
- Assist teams in areas including Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Environmental, Safety, Electrical, Mechanical, and Technical Services.
- Support equipment inspections and collect or analyze operational data.
- Assist with project research and participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to station reliability and performance efforts.
- Observe and participate in day-to-day plant activities and attend team meetings.
- Support projects that contribute to the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the station.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering at an ABET-accredited institution.
- Expected graduation date in 2028 or 2029.
- Minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
