About the role#
Dominion Energy is seeking engineering students for our 2027 power generation internship program. This role provides exposure to fossil and hydroelectric operations. You will work on projects that support our generation facilities and gain experience in utility operations and environmental standards. Successful interns may be considered for full-time roles after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Manage maintenance planning and facility modifications.
- Prepare project scopes, competitive bids, and justifications.
- Track project schedules, budgets, and cost estimates.
- Assist with equipment and systems testing at plant sites.
- Conduct engineering studies and technical analysis.
- Develop status reports for ongoing projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Biosystems, or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Expected graduation date in fall 2027 or later.
- Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver license with a safe driving history.
- Ability to perform field work in challenging environments.
- Reliable transportation and residence within a reasonable commuting distance of the work site.
Location & details#
- Locations: Aiken, North Augusta, Beaufort, Charleston, and Columbia, South Carolina.
- Terms: Winter 2027, Summer 2027, and Fall 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $23.00 to $29.00 per hour.
- Status: Paid internship.
