About the role#
Dominion Energy is seeking an Engineering Intern to support operations, maintenance, and engineering activities across our power generation fleet. Based in Richmond, Virginia, this role offers hands-on experience working with engineering and station teams in Chesapeake, Covington, and Surry. You will contribute to projects that support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our generating assets.
What you'll do#
- Assist with data collection, analysis, and project research.
- Perform equipment inspections and evaluate equipment performance.
- Support process improvement initiatives and plant systems.
- Prepare technical documentation.
- Participate in engineering, maintenance, and operational projects across multiple generating stations.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering at an ABET-accredited institution.
- Expected graduation date of Fall 2028 or 2029.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn and apply engineering concepts in a power generation environment.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship located in Richmond, Virginia.
- The role is on-site and involves up to 25% travel.
- Work environment includes office settings, with up to 25% of time spent outdoors and exposure to loud noise.
