About the role#
The Surgical Technologist Student position at Deaconess Health System involves supporting surgeons and medical staff within the operating room. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Marion, Illinois, with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments.
- Arrange the operating room with necessary supplies.
- Maintain a sterile environment to prevent infections.
- Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sutures, and other materials during procedures.
- Monitor the cleanliness and functionality of surgical instruments and equipment.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from a School of Operating Room Technicians.
- Current enrollment in a Surgical or RN program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience is preferred.
