    About the role#

    The Student Surgical Technologist assists with surgical procedures at Memorial Medical Center. You work under the supervision of a registered nurse or a Certified Surgical Technologist to support patient care in the operating room. This role involves preparing the surgical suite and ensuring the environment remains sterile throughout procedures.

    What you'll do#

    • Prepare the surgical suite and plan for upcoming procedures.
    • Create and maintain a sterile field.
    • Assist the circulating nurse and physician during patient care.
    • Provide necessary equipment and supplies based on specific patient needs.
    • Perform counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments.
    • Prepare instruments for sterilization and help with room cleanup.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a state approved Surgical Technologist program.
    • Completion of at least two semesters of a clinical course of study.
    • Current Basic Life Support - Provider certification.
