About the role#
As an Environmental Health & Safety Intern at the Danfoss Tallahassee site, you will contribute to creating a safer and more sustainable workplace. You will gain practical experience with OSHA, EPA, and environmental programs while working with leadership to improve safety processes and reduce operational risk.
What you'll do#
- Strengthen EHS management systems by supporting policy development, documentation, and compliance tracking.
- Assist with hazard assessments, incident investigations, and the development of corrective action plans.
- Partner with internal teams to deliver EHS training and awareness regarding safety practices and regulatory requirements.
- Support environmental compliance efforts, including permits, inspections, and programs related to air, water, and waste management.
- Participate in daily GEMBA walks and 5S initiatives to maintain safe, organized, and efficient work environments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Health Administration, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of EHS regulations and standards such as OSHA, EPA, ANSI, and NFPA.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new EHS systems or software.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.
