About the role#
As an Environmental Health and Safety Intern at the Tallahassee site, you will support the development of a safer and more sustainable workplace. This role involves working closely with leadership to ensure compliance with EHS regulations, improve internal processes, and mitigate operational risks. You will gain hands-on experience with OSHA, EPA, and various environmental programs while contributing to the overall safety culture of the facility.
What you'll do#
- Strengthen EHS management systems by supporting policy development, documentation, and compliance tracking.
- Assist with hazard assessments, incident investigations, and the creation of corrective action plans.
- Partner with teams to deliver EHS training and awareness initiatives regarding safety practices and regulatory requirements.
- Support environmental compliance efforts, including permits, inspections, and programs related to air, water, and waste management.
- Participate in daily GEMBA walks and 5S initiatives to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Health Administration, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of EHS regulations and standards, such as OSHA, EPA, ANSI, and NFPA.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn EHS-specific software systems.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across various teams.
