About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the Aftermarket Logistics and Operations team at Daimler Truck North America. You will support a multi-year initiative to upgrade Warehouse Management Systems to the EWM platform. This project involves building a centralized template to drive warehouse operations across 11 Parts Distribution Centers. You will work alongside project leads, IT, and supply chain teams to manage execution, monitor system stability, and support organizational change management efforts.
What you'll do#
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency in warehouse operations.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to implement improvement strategies.
- Create detailed process documentation and design visual aids to represent task semantics.
- Develop methods to report and track risk factors.
- Support project leads in the development and execution of deliverables within budget and on time.
- Manage post-launch topics, including the maintenance of scope documentation.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings, manage minutes, and track action items.
- Prepare project status reports and present findings to stakeholders.
- Assist in the design and development of warehouse systems and continuous improvements.
- Use analytical and quantitative methods to predict and enhance distribution processes.
- Strategize and use AI-enabled techniques to present network logistics optimization.
- Support organizational change management activities, including publishing newsletters and project communications.
- Promote lean methodology and foster an inclusive workplace culture.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program or higher, or graduation within 1 year of the start date.
- Degree focus in Logistics, Distribution Operations, or a related field.
- Understanding of Project Management methodologies, such as Waterfall or Agile.
- Knowledge of project management tools like Jira, CALM, Microsoft Office, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with a creative mindset.
- Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change.
- Passion for the automotive or trucking industry and a customer-oriented approach.
- Experience or training in lean principles, problem-solving techniques, and waste elimination is preferred.

- Term: Summer 2027 (beginning in May or June).

- Employment: Full-time.
- Compensation: $21 - $29 per hour, based on anticipated graduation year.
