About the role#
This co-op position supports the North American Logistics Team within the Supply Chain organization in Saginaw, Michigan. You will work alongside Material Planners, Trade Compliance Specialists, and dock personnel to manage transportation planning and execution. This role focuses on route optimization, freight cost analysis, and data management.
What you'll do#
- Manage daily North American truckload routes and assist with holiday planning.
- Maintain data integrity in route trackers, carrier trackers, and master bid files.
- Design and optimize routes to improve efficiency and lower freight costs.
- Use Power BI to analyze inbound material volume.
- Communicate route details to internal and external partners.
- Document truckload logistics processes and procedures.
- Analyze supplier releases to find opportunities for route consolidation or cancellation.
- Track financials and investigate freight cost discrepancies.
- Manage transportation data within the QAD MRP system.
- Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure transportation execution.
- Update the Supplier Delivery Window Dashboard to support plant dock operations.
- Assist with the implementation of the Transportation Management System.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year or 4-year college or university local to Saginaw.
- Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Supply Chain or Business Administration.
- Status as a full-time student (minimum 12 credits) during Fall and Winter semesters.
- Minimum cumulative 2.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Ability to work 20-32 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 hours during the summer.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Teams, Excel, and Word.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
- Legal right to work in the US without sponsorship.
