About the role#
Nexteer Automotive is looking for a Manufacturing Operations Co-Op to join our team in Saginaw. This role provides administrative, clerical, and project support to our Production Supervisor team. You will help maintain records and organize production data, allowing supervisors to focus on key goals like quality, safety, and efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Assist with change notice documentation audits to ensure compliance with standards.
- Monitor and record daily production data, including output, scrap, and overtime hours.
- Maintain time and attendance records in internal systems.
- Create and update employee training records, matrices, and cross-training plans.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and presentations for leadership.
- Organize documentation for internal procedures and collective bargaining agreements.
- Coordinate information between departments like Maintenance, Engineering, and Production Control.
- Participate in 5S activities by updating checklists and tracking audits.
- Provide inventory clerical support and perform data entry for safety or quality tracking systems.
- Complete special projects as requested by operations leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year or 4-year university located near Saginaw.
- Pursuit of a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Human Resources.
- A cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Status as a full-time student (minimum 12 credits) during Fall and Winter semesters.
- Ability to work 20-32 hours weekly during the school year and up to 40 hours during the summer.
- Intermediate skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Interest in or basic understanding of manufacturing environments.
