About the role#
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is looking for a Supply Chain Intern to join the Global Supply Management Systems and Tools team. This team focuses on system improvements, data analytics, and automation to optimize procurement processes and reduce risk. You will gain hands-on experience supporting the implementation of the Supplier Performance Management System and ongoing Advanced Commodity Management Engine initiatives. This role involves working with global teams across Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, and IT to improve data quality, reporting, and process efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Support project activities including current-state analysis, requirements documentation, data validation, user acceptance testing, and issue tracking.
- Assist with data and reporting tasks such as managing contract information, validating reports, and reconciling outputs with source data.
- Collect, clean, and analyze supply chain data from Excel, Power BI, SAP, SPS, and Ivalua.
- Manage supplier master-data processes, including onboarding, profile maintenance, commodity-code alignment, and scorecard reporting.
- Create and maintain process maps, work instructions, training documents, and status trackers.
- Test system enhancements, document results, and follow up on defects.
- Explore the use of AI and Microsoft Copilot to improve data analysis and routine process efficiency.
- Prepare and present project updates and findings to stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of supply chain concepts and an interest in systems, data, and process improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, VLOOKUP, charts, and data cleaning.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a global team.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and follow through on action items.
- Power BI experience and knowledge of AI tools like Microsoft Copilot are preferred.
- Exposure to SAP, procurement systems, Power Query, or process mapping is a plus.
