About the role#
The Aftermarket Supply Chain team at Daimler Truck North America ensures the on-time delivery of powertrain parts to our distribution network. As an intern, you will join this team to help procure parts, route them through distribution centers, and work with dealers to reduce truck downtime. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Manage a deck of parts to procure from 3rd party suppliers.
- Review backorders daily and work with suppliers, operations, transportation, and purchasing to remove delivery barriers.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding part delivery status and lead times.
- Analyze your part deck to identify and reduce excess inventory.
- Collaborate with internal groups to find the root cause of recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
- Support efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s program or higher, or graduation within one year of the start date.
- Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience working within SAP and Salesforce applications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize your workload based on critical business metrics.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
- You must act with urgency.
