About the role#
This summer internship offers students the chance to gain hands-on experience across various supply chain functions at Cummins. You will work on-site in Columbus, Indiana, contributing to real projects that support our manufacturing and logistics operations. This is a full-time position for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
Your responsibilities will span several key areas of our business:
- Manufacturing: Assist with the design and implementation of assembly processes, identify production efficiency improvements, and work with engineering teams to resolve product performance issues.
- Planning and Logistics: Maintain daily supply chain operations, monitor planning system parameters, and analyze key performance indicators to identify and mitigate risks.
- Purchasing: Support purchasing system strategies, implement catalogs, and train internal customers on sourcing processes.
- Quality: Apply quality planning principles, lead containment activities, conduct process audits, and facilitate continuous improvement projects.
- Facilities: Monitor building systems and oversee contractors for renovation projects, while documenting maintenance and repairs.
What you'll need#
We are looking for students who are currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited U.S. college or university. Preference is given to those with a 2.5 GPA or higher. You must currently reside within the continental United States.
Relevant majors include:
- Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
- Economics
- Statistics
- Other related fields
