About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of your preceptor and district leadership to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. This position focuses on deepening your understanding of patient safety, quality assurance, and pharmacy operations. You will support pharmacy teams to help patients navigate their health care and provide caring service.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation.
- Assist with pharmacy workflow procedures including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify prescriptions as allowed by state regulation.
- Support immunizations by educating patients, obtaining consent, and administering vaccines.
- Maintain pharmacy operations by following standard operating procedures and best practices.
- Assist with inventory activities like cycle counts, returns, and medication deliveries.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, reach, and lift up to 20 lbs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to solve problems in a team setting.
