About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while preparing you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap including key learning experiences and activities.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care during interactions.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the pharmacist on duty.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies regarding patient privacy and safety.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention and focus to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- A team-oriented mindset with a focus on helping others.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to 20 lbs, and reaching or stooping as needed.
