About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role helps you develop professional skills and prepare for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. You will gain an overview of store, district, and regional operations while assisting the pharmacy team to ensure operations run safely and accurately.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences.
- Follow all company standard operating procedures at each workstation.
- Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in customer interactions.
- Support immunizations and patient education regarding vaccines.
- Help with inventory activities, such as putting away deliveries and completing cycle counts.
- Maintain flexibility to work in your home store and other locations within the market.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Ability to use math to solve problems, such as calculating medication dosages or day supplies.
- Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
