About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This program provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while you gain hands-on experience through Key Learning Experiences. You will prepare for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist by supporting our pharmacy teams and delivering on our brand promise.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences.
- Ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly by following workflow procedures at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off stations.
- Assist the pharmacy team in filling prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care.
- Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Maintain focus and attention to detail while performing tasks and verifying prescription information.
- Support immunization services by educating patients and documenting information where permitted by law.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Capacity to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention and focus to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Ability to pivot between tasks quickly to meet patient and business needs.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues.
