About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations as you prepare for a future Pharmacist position. You will assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and patients receive safe, accurate care.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap including Key Learning Experiences and activities.
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, including prescription fulfillment, workflow management, and inventory activities.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by providing empathetic service and fielding medical questions under pharmacist supervision.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by law and supported by training.
- Coach and mentor team members while sharing best practices.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Capacity to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
